    The workshop will cover the basics of guardianship, limited guardianship, conservatorship, and other surrogate decision-making options, with an aim towards attaining the maximum possible independence for your child while preserving vital protections for important decision-making. We will discuss how to secure guardianship and the importance of medical directives and durable power of attorney for those with capacity to make some decisions, but not all. We will also discuss the role and responsibilities of the guardian, and how to pass guardianship to a successor when parents are no longer here. This 90-minute presentation includes a Q&A.
