Church World Service

CWS welcomes newcomers into our communities and empowers refugees, humanitarian migrants, and asylum-seekers to become vital members of society as business and community leaders, volunteers, advocates, and friends. Our programs include case management, health services, adult education, children and youth programs, housing assistance, legal services, and more.

We are able to assist migrants in New Jersey who hold status as refugees, asylees, Cuban and Haitian Entrants, Special Immigrant Visa holders, or parolees, including Afghan Humanitarian Parolees and Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees, Victims of Trafficking, and Survivors of Torture.

Eligibility can also depend on the person’s arrival date. If you encounter someone in the community who you think might be eligible, please feel free to refer them to our agency. They could be eligible for ORR-specific services such as Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) for clients 18+, English Language Learners classes (ELL), employment and housing support, school impact grant, youth mentoring, and case management services.

Find more information on ORR eligibility using this website.

If a person is unsure of CWS eligibility, they can contact the office at (201) 659-0467 or fill out the new client form

We offer services in English, Spanish, Pashto, Dari, Haitian Creole, and Ukrainian, as well as other languages via phone interpretation.
