Since 1991, the Community Living Education Project (CLEP) has been committed to providing information and education regarding community living resources for people with intellectual /developmental disabilities (I/DD) living in New Jersey.
CLEP fulfills its Mission by:
- Highlighting the possibilities in community living through learning events, family meetings, and print and digital media;
- Sharing stories of individuals who have moved to a community setting;
- Accompanying individuals and families on visits to varied residential options
- Highlighting the many services and supports in the community
Our Values
- Person-Centered Planning – CLEP believes all activities and coordination of community living should be explored based on what is important TO and FOR the individual
- Self-Advocacy for individuals with I/DD – CLEP is committed to supporting individuals as they advocate for their personal hopes and dreams
- Collaboration - CLEP prioritizes open communication and collaboration between individuals, families, providers, and staff
- Sharing Possibilities – CLEP is committed to showing that anyone can live in the community with the proper supports and services centered around the individual’s needs
- Education – CLEP is dedicated to educating policymakers, community leaders, disability-focused professionals, and the general public with factual information about community living, supports, and services.
