Child and Adolescent Partial Hospital Program - RWJBH Trinitas

The Child Partial Hospital Programs offer the following options:

Day Treatment
The Day Treatment Partial Hospital Program provides an intensive therapeutic experience for children ages 5-17, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Lunch is provided, and transportation is available for parts of Union and Essex counties. Academic education is provided as approved by the home school district.

Adolescent Co-Occurring Program
The Adolescent Co-Occurring Program provides an intensive therapeutic setting for teens ages 13-17 who have been diagnosed with a psychiatric or substance use challenge, who are at risk of losing their school, home placement, and/or of being sent to juvenile detention. Program hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Lunch is provided, and transportation is available for parts of Union and Essex counties. Academic education is provided as approved by the home school district.

Child Half-Day (Elizabeth clients only)
The Child Half-Day Program provides an intensive outpatient therapeutic setting for children aged 5-8. Program hours are Monday through Friday, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Transportation is available for Elizabeth residents, from school to the program and then home. (In summer, the program is held during the morning hours, and transportation is provided to and from home.)

After School Program
The After School Program provides an intensive therapeutic setting for youth ages 9-17. Program hours are Monday through Friday, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Dinner is provided, and transportation is available for parts of Union County. (In summer, the program runs during morning hours.)

Eligibility Ages 5 to 17 (18 if enrolled in school); children need this level of clinical support to remain stable outside of an inpatient or out of home environment or to transition to living in community from a more restrictive setting. Children have the capacity and support for regular attendance and stability necessary to be maintained in the program.
