Center for Hope and Health

Life doesn’t have to be as hard as it is right now. When you’re living with anxiety, unable to break out of your OCD cycle, struggling with an eating disorder, just not feeling good enough, it’s hard. It can feel impossible to live a fulfilled, healthy life. Where to even begin? Here’s the thing, though. There’s so much potential. Through evidence-based therapy, you can shift your thoughts, find more effective and adaptive behaviors, and live a healthy and fulfilling life

About CHH

The Center for Hope and Health is an outpatient, once weekly, mental health practice serving adolescents (13+) and adults who are seeking evidence-based treatment for eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and trauma-related conditions.

Founded locally by Amanda Turco DiBalsi, LPC, the practice was launched to address the growing need for specialized, accessible outpatient care in central, NJ.

Treatment specialties

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy–Enhanced (CBT-E) for Eating Disorders

CBT-E is the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder and is also effective for anorexia nervosa. This structured, time-limited approach (approximately 20 sessions) focuses on stabilizing eating patterns and addressing the thoughts and behaviors that maintain the eating disorder. Clients take an active role through food monitoring, collaborative weighing, food challenges, and targeted work on body image and self-esteem.

Family Based Therapy (FBT) for Anorexia

FBT is an evidence-based approach for adolescents with anorexia nervosa that actively involves caregivers in supporting nutritional restoration and recovery. Treatment empowers families to take a central role in interrupting eating disorder behaviors while gradually returning autonomy to the adolescent as recovery progresses.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD

ERP is the most well-researched and effective treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder. Treatment involves gradual exposure to feared or avoided situations while preventing compulsive behaviors, helping reduce the intensity and frequency of obsessions and compulsions. ERP improves functioning and quality of life by breaking the cycle of avoidance and rituals through in-session and between-session practice.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety & Depression

CBT helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety and depression. By developing more balanced interpretations and engaging in new coping behaviors, clients reduce emotional distress and improve day-to-day functioning.
