The McKinney-Vento National Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 11431) is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for displaced children and youth.
This support is available statewide. Your local liaison can provide resources, training, and assistance at no cost (free) for doubled-up, housing-insecure, and homeless families, children, and youth, including unaccompanied youth seeking resources and access to education.
- No-cost support: All resources, training, and assistance are provided at no cost.
Target groups served:
- Doubled-up families (those temporarily staying with others due to loss of housing or economic hardship).
- Housing-insecure families and youth (those lacking stable or adequate housing).
- Homeless families, children, and youth.
