Newborn Nurses was started in 1986 by an RN who observed that a growing number of infants and children were being discharged from hospitals earlier and sicker in order to decrease medical expenses. This transition to home not only decreased medical costs but also increased positive clinical outcomes for the children. Since these medically fragile children had chronic conditions, they remained in home care for many years. Therefore, although we originally specialized in caring for medically fragile children at home, our focus expanded to older children, teens, and, as they grew, adults as well. We now provide continuous nursing care for people of all ages in the comfort of their own homes, in schools, medical facilities, Headstart, and Day Care programs. We are contracted with schools, clinics, and health insurance carriers in order to provide this service throughout New Jersey.
Newborn Nurses provides Private Duty Nurses, both LPNs & RNs, to care for your medically fragile loved one in the comfort of your home. We ensure that your loved ones are well-taken care of and that they receive compassionate care to help them thrive at home despite their conditions, diagnosis, or prognosis.
Anything nurses do in the hospital, our nurses can do in the home. Our Nurses are known in the community as "Champions of Caring".
We match your loved one's clinical needs with nurses who have the unique clinical skill set, from a feeding tube to a loved one who is ventilator dependent.
How, you ask? We talk with your loved ones' MD and gather information to obtain and fight for an authorization from NJ Medicaid or your commercial insurance company in order to pay for the services your MD orders, this could be 8hours, 12 hours, or in some cases, 24 hours per day!
We have extensive experience working in schools. We are contracted with most of the school districts.
We provide substitute school nurses, one-to-one care of a medically fragile child in the classroom, and nursing services during field trips.
Each family we work with is assigned a team, a Clinical Supervisor that over sees the care provided by your nurses & a Staffing Coordinator who schedules your nurses.
Newborn Nurses is accredited by the Community Health Association Plan.
