One Family One Fight is a trauma-informed youth development and violence prevention nonprofit helping young people build confidence, strengthen life skills, develop healthy relationships, and gain exposure to opportunities that support positive futures.

Our mentoring is individualized to the young person. Mentors build consistent, trusted relationships while working from each youth’s strengths, interests, needs, and goals. Services can take place in the home, school, community, or virtually, depending on the needs of the youth and family.

Mentoring can include:

• Life Skills & Independence — communication, problem-solving, healthy decision-making, goal setting, accountability, and preparing for adulthood
• Leadership & Identity — confidence, self-awareness, personal strengths, leadership skills, voice, and positive identity development
• Career & Employment Readiness — career exploration, résumé development, job searching, applications, interviewing, workplace readiness, and connection to employment resources
• College & Future Readiness — college exploration, postsecondary planning, scholarships/FAFSA awareness, trades, apprenticeships, workforce training, and developing a plan for life after high school
• Financial Empowerment — budgeting, banking, saving, spending decisions, and foundational money-management skills
• Connection & Positive Experiences — community activities, creative and recreational experiences, exposure to new environments and opportunities, and connection to positive community resources

Transportation is available for appropriate mentoring activities and community-based experiences.

One Family One Fight also provides youth leadership development, violence prevention programming, school-based workshops and experiences, parent/caregiver support, and community-based youth programming.

Founded by Kimberly Banks in honor of her son, Samaad Z. Frazier, One Family One Fight’s work is rooted in turning pain into purpose and creating opportunities for young people to develop, connect, and see possibilities for their future.
