M&S Psychotherapy and Counseling, LLC, Nurturing Parenting® Program is specially designed for meeting the assessed requirement of families that are experiencing varying dysfunction levels. We offer the home-based approach by masters and licensed level clinicians, which allows them to observe the family and practice the skills in their home setting.

We have designed our exclusive Nurturing Parenting® Program in five major patterns of parenting in which we have researched and found to be contributing to child maltreatment.

The five patterns are:

1. Inappropriate children’s developmental expectations
2. Lack of empathy of parents regarding the needs of children
3. Belief in the usage of corporal punishment
4. Revise the parent and children's roles
5. Oppressing of children's power as well as independence through the demand for strict obedience

The family-centered initiatives of the Nurturing Parenting® Program of this organization are developed for building the Nurturing Parenting® skills as an alternative towards neglecting as well as abusive child rearing or parenting practices.

The parenting programs of the organization are particularly designed and are different from other organizations providing nurturing programs, since we target to prevent recidivism within the families who are receiving social services. Long-term targets include lowering the rate of juvenile delinquency, substance and alcohol abuse, the rate of teenage pregnancies, and putting a stop to the cycle of abuse in children by encouraging awareness of positive behaviors and parenting skills.
