Rhythm and Renewal Music Therapy

Rhythm and Renewal Music Therapy is a private practice dedicated to supporting children and adolescents through individualized, evidence-based music therapy services. Music therapy is a clinical, research-based practice in which a board-certified music therapist uses music intentionally to address non-musical goals, including emotional, behavioral, social, cognitive, and developmental needs.

At Rhythm and Renewal, services are designed to support children experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bullying, and difficulty with emotional regulation. We also work with children with behavioral challenges, including impulsivity, difficulty with transitions, and challenges with attention and self-control. In addition, we support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, Autism, ADHD, as well as children with communication delays and social skill needs.

Sessions are tailored to each child’s strengths, preferences, and goals, often incorporating their favorite music to increase engagement and motivation. Interventions may include active music-making (playing instruments, drumming, singing), songwriting, lyric analysis, improvisation, movement to music, and structured musical games that target specific skills. These approaches help children develop emotional expression, coping skills, communication, social interaction, and confidence in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

Rhythm and Renewal offers both individual and group sessions. Individual sessions provide one-on-one, personalized support with focused therapeutic goals, while group sessions create opportunities to practice social skills such as turn-taking, cooperation, peer interaction, and communication in a supportive and engaging environment.

Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where children feel seen, heard, and empowered—using the power of music to foster growth, connection, and overall well-being.
