SNAP Program (Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health)
Through a grant from the New Jersey Food Security Initiative (NJFSI) and the State Department of Human Services Division of Family Development, RWJBarnabas Health offers a first-of-its-kind program in New Jersey to place Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Navigators in 12 of the system’s acute care hospitals.
Our goal is to address health equity by reducing food insecurity and hunger by enhancing access to healthy food and nutrition education, aligning with RWJBarnabas Health’s mission to build and sustain a healthier New Jersey.
Applying for SNAP can be confusing. A SNAP Navigator can help you apply for and help you keep your benefits so you can get the food assistance you need.
SNAP Navigators will walk you through:
