SSBN is a prevocational training program for adults 18 and over who wish to improve in areas related to social and/or job skills. Participants work on these skills through a structured year-long curriculum, with a focus on teaching and improving micro and macro skills in areas that are vital to success in the workplace, college, and everyday interactions.
In either of our two locations, Wayne or Parsippany, our groups meet two days a week, Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays, from 10 am-3 pm. The groups are structured to work on different skill areas throughout the day through a variety of teaching and practice methods. A few times per month, groups will volunteer locally to gain hands on experience. By participating in this program, participants will improve their social interactions and relationships, be able to search and interview for jobs, and be prepared to deal with challenges that may arise in the workplace.
Interested participants can schedule an intake to determine whether the program is a good fit. The program can be funded through DDD, school transition programs, or private pay.
